Getting quality traffic is of the utmost importance for internet marketers. If you are working on a shoestring budget and most new home business owners are, then you have to find a way of using free and inexpensive resources to your advantage. Some of the strategies I use for generating quality traffic to my website can be found below. Some of these strategies cost money, some of the strategies you are about to read are free and just take a little time and effort, but the benefits to you can generate tons of cash from your product or service sales.
1) Reciprocal Linking:
This is such a powerful tool to generate traffic. Not only will linking to other popular sites help in getting quality traffic to your site, it will also help with your search engine ranking. When I built my links page, I had no idea how powerful a tool I had until I saw my ranking at http://www.alexa.com skyrocket in just a few weeks. Look for link partners that offer really good content on their site. One of the best books I have read is by Jack Humphrey titled Power Linking 2: Evolution. I would suggest you get this book and learn how use linking to get quality traffic to your site.
2) Writing Articles:
This is a super way to generate quality traffic to your website. You may write about anything you wish as long as you feel comfortable enough that you know something about the subject matter. You can write about life experiences if you don't feel you know enough about internet marketing. The most important part is the resource box at the end of your article. This is where you sell yourself and your business. Write 4-6 lines detailing you business, product or service, with your url attached. Their are plenty of article directories to place your article for free. there are also sites like http://www.submityourarticle.com that charge a fee but will send your business articles out to well over 10,000 publishers.
3) Free Website Traffic Generators:
Using free traffic generators like http://www.trafficswarm.com and http://www.milliondollartraffic.com can bring ton's of potential clients to your site all for free. Although you can buy credits for traffic swarm, you don't have to. These two programs are similar in that you view other peoples websites in exchange for credits, the credits are actually page views and the more credits you have, the more people you are getting to view your product or service. New members of traffic swarm also receive 100 credits just for signing up. There are more sites like the two above but I highly recommend these quality traffic.
4) Give Away Free Stuff:
Most people like to receive free stuff! If they feel they got something of value from you for free they will be back to visit your site often. However, this can backfire in the sense that they just might be after all the free stuff your giving away and may never buy your product or service. Some of the best products to give away are re-branded ebooks. These are ebooks that are re-branded with your links in them. Even if you have not written the book yourself, some publishers allow you to re-brand their books to give away on your site. What is so great about this is if the person that downloads the ebook, gives it away on his site, he will be giving away the book with your links! Potentially another customer is born. This has the potential to reach thousands of people who in turn may visit your site and purchase your product or service. It can be an endless cycle of free viral marketing for you website.
5) Using PPC Sites:
This will cost you money, so be careful. PPC refers to Pay Per Click and simply is a means to allow you to advertise by placing a link with your ad on a PPC site. You select and bid on keywords that will drive potential customers to your site. The higher your bid, the higher your ad will appear on the page. You can find bids for as low as a penny per click, so for $10 you can have 1000 quality visitors, but most of the better PPC sites offer bids starting at a nickel to ten cents. Some PPC site will actually give you a sign-up bonus of anywhere from $1 to $25. I use all these methods and I find each to be a quick and inexpensive way to generate quality traffic to my site.
