I got the idea for writing this article from The Project
Mouse Trap ebook written by Bogdan Ravaru and George
Katsoudas. You can find it here:

People are curious. Curiosity is an essence of human
nature.
People also like to easily make a profit - even cheat for
profit.
I'll tell you a joke - this is a real story though...
Jonathan had a store selling fabrics. Jonathan had a son:
Jimmy. When customers visited the store, Jonathan was in
the basement and Jimmy was on the 1st floor - you'll
understand why in a few seconds.
So, when the customer asked, How much does this cost?
Jonathan shouted to Jimmy... Hey, Jimmy... The red tissue
with the crosses... How much does it cost son?
Jimmy whispered from the first floor: $25 per square
meter Dad... Then Jonathan looked at his customer
saying... You heard Jimmy dear... $15 per square meter...
Guess what... The customer bought the red tissue with the
crosses and did it quickly before Jimmy came down and
seen what was going on there...
That was Jonathan's tactic... His customers had the
impression that Jonathan's hearing was bad and when they
kept coming back to Jonathan's store, they made sure that
Jimmy was upstairs and only then did they ask Jonathan,
How much does that cost?... And the story continues.
And the best thing is that everybody was happy... The real
price of the red tissue with the crosses was less than
$10. Jonathan and Jimmy profited that way and customers
were feeling happy because they got their chance to buy an
expensive item thanks to Jonathan's bad hearing:-)
Funny story, eh?
You can do the same with your customers who are eager to
cheat you...
Suppose you sell an ebook with the title 7 Secrets... One
of your visitors will certainly search your server to find
the 7secrets.zip or the 7secrets.pdf file. It's normal for
some people to think that way.
People cannot resist stealing something that is not
securely kept. It's not a good action, but you must learn
how to deal with it.
So, give them what they think they want.
Create a report, a PDF file, and name it using the title
of your ebook: 7 Secrets. Of course, you must use the
same subject your product deals with. For example, if you
sell an ebook with 7 Secrets about Search Engines, then
your fake product should be titled, 7 Secrets about
Search Engines.
And then upload the file into your root directory. For
example, if your server is http://yourserver.com, then the
file could be accessed by typing the following into the
browser:
- http://yourserver.com/7secrets.zip, or
- http://yourserver.com/7secrets.exe, or
if you distribute a PDF file,
- http://yourserver.com/7secrets.pdf
Also, in that fake product, write a message stating that
your customer has the Master Resell Rights for that
product...
Even if one website visitor tries to steal from you, you
will get a profit you cannot imagine. The cheater will
distribute this report to his readers or even resell it at
eBay.com and YOU will get traffic back to your site through
your links or even commissions through your affiliate
links inside that fake report!
For many secrets like the above, be sure to read Bogdan and
George's ebook, The Project Mouse Trap:

Have a nice weekend!
